The London Interbank Offered Rates (LIBOR),
is loan rates for a specified period that are
offered to first-class banks in the London
interbank market. Banks link their lending to
LIBOR as an alternative to the base lending
rate when setting the rate for a fixed term,
after which the rate may be adjusted.
